CPC NYC Freelance Video Editor Commission 2024
I was commission by the Chinese American Planning Council in New York City to create a video for their year-end event. I was given photos and some directions to follow with a one week deadline.
It came together like a 1000 piece puzzle (slowly and then rapidly). What made the project click for me was the addition of moving visual elements. Being a New Yorker particularly helped in this endeavor. This amazing story unfolds with the support of added motion elements in an unconventional non-static slideshow format.

Losing June Book Trailers
In my video work for author Catherine Bodnar, I’ve crafted book trailers that offer audiences a captivating glimpse into the rich narrative and backdrop of her historical fiction novel.
Drawing upon my background as both an author and visual artist, as well as my intimate knowledge of the Pacific Northwest mountains, I brought a unique perspective to the project. Being a big fan of the story was also a plus during The creative process.
Audio version of the first pages of “Losing June” synced with a dreamy dive into the world of Spirit Lake under Mount St. Helens in the Summer of ‘59.
One standout demo trailer, synced with the audio version of the novel, elevates the reading experience by delving deep into the thematic nuances of the narrative, truly embodying the concept of immersion for viewers.
My dedication to thorough research and meticulous selection of audio and visual elements have helped to create immersive and engaging trailers that resonate with the essence of the story.
Short Clips
Innovative approach and attention to detail shine through in these visually compelling trailers, effectively capturing the essence of Catherine Bodnar's work and drawing viewers into her world.

Mini Spa VT + Lotus & Lily
For Mini Spa VT and Lotus & Lily - a spa and herbal remedy company based in Burlington, Vermont, I've created a diverse range of content to showcase their products effectively.
The first video, an animated short, beautifully and simply illustrates the herbal benefits of one of their hand sanitizing products, highlighting its natural and healing properties.
The second, which is a YouTube video serves as a detailed review of Jane Iredale makeup products, which were prominently featured in the spa and online shop, providing valuable insights for potential customers.
Lastly, the fun and engaging third (YouTube) video captures a dog walk through the buggy hot woods of Vermont, emphasizing the effectiveness of a bug repellent product offered by the company.

Fitness & Fun
This is my approach to creating fitness-related videos that are truly unique and artful, reflecting my personal journey towards well-being while fostering a sense of community.
Running:
One standout example is a video captured during a 48-hour-long relay race with my running team at the Zion Ragnar event, cleverly condensed into a dynamic 90-second Instagram clip.
Through this video, I encapsulated the essence of the event and what makes it truly exceptional by meticulously documenting every significant moment, big or small. This video not only showcases the physical challenges of the race but also shines a light on the camaraderie and support shared among individuals with similar mindsets and spirits.
In a fun way it highlights the essence of pushing oneself to the limits while being uplifted by the collective energy and enthusiasm of like-minded individuals.
Skiing:
My innovative approach to creating compelling videos for skiing and performance art showcases creativity and dedication to delivering unique content that effectively engages with the audience.
This clip is one of ten videos in a mini-series focusing on the artistic process of practicing freestyle skiing. I have redefined traditional approaches to this “lost art” to cater to a modern audience with a raw collage of movement and related imagery.
This video features a custom-written song crafted by me using Suno AI. This choice enhances and focuses the aesthetic and choreography of the footage. The synchronization between music and visuals is meticulously calibrated, ensuring that the pacing and animations align seamlessly with the rhythm, capturing the audience's attention and resonating with those interested in alternative fitness pursuits.
Merging music, movement, and visuals in a cohesive and captivating manner not only elevates the viewing experience but also sets a new standard for blending artistry with athleticism in the digital realm.
